4H Fair

It is that time again, time for the county fair. I wonder sometimes why we do it and why we late till the last minute. I guess that just makes it more exciting. The kids had all these great plans to each do four things. B was going to do 10 scrapbook pages, a dog photo, brownies, and a table setting. D was doing a wooden footstool, dog photo, 8 post cards, and oatmeal cookies. We are ending up with D doing a dog photo and B doing brownies and a table setting. They did a really good job on their final entries. I am so proud that they did something. I wonder if I should have pushed them and made them follow through with what they originally signed up for. I then think why cause myself so much extra drama... it is just the fair. If they do great they will get a blue ribbon and 6.00, red is worth 4.00, and white is 2.00. I will be happy with whatever they get at least they did accomplish something. I am going to post a picture that Dustin is entering in the fair. I will post pictures of all the projects tomorrow. We are still praying for the icing on B's brownies to harden before it is time to pack them up and drop them off.

The Girls Outside Justice

BUSY !!!

We have been so busy. Here is a run down of the last month.

B turned 13 and had a ROCKIN B'day party. We took the girls to Justice and they enjoyed it so much. It was worth every penny.

B & D were at the local t.v. station taping a segment about Canine Good Citizenship with Reeses and Lady.

We are apart of way to many 4- H clubs. We belong to Puppy Pals, Cooking, Scrapbooking, Home Grown, Ecology, and soon to add to our list Archery. I have to say that although it keeps us busy it is a wonderful addition to our schooling.

Saturday we did the Coastal Clean up and had fun. While it was disgusting it taught the kids a good lesson on not throwing out trash. After that B had to work a booth at the local Tractor Supply for another 4- H club. We ended the day with having about 4 kids come and hang out for the afternoon.

We have been busy training the dogs for upcoming shows.

The kids got to go to ROCK THE UNIVERSE at Universal Studios with Friends.

B got to go with girls to the JONAS BROTHERS CONCERT. They had a blast!!!

B is part of a Planning committee for a 4-H group. They are working on planning a city. If they were to get a lot of land and build their own city where would things go, what would you need. She is really having a blast with it.

Of course we are trying to get some school done with all those activities. Who ever said homeschoolers don't get any socialization.

We are having fun with our local PE group.

We will be starting a group that will be working on election stuff for the month of October.

We will be making a trip to Wannado City soon with a bunch of the families from our homeschool group.

Movies

The kids enjoyed a nice day at the movies with friends today. We went to the free movie and saw Evan Almighty. The kids enjoyed it because they were with 6 of their friends, so that always makes for a good time. After the movie we went to a local park and ate lunch. Then T and I went walking for an hour.... who's brilliant idea is it to walk at 1:00 in 95 degree weather???? We definitely got our workout. We then did some Walmart shopping and came home to chill out! Tonight B was thrilled to do some math, oh how she loves math... NOT!!!! The kids are looking forward to Friday. We have youth group at our house and B has 4 girls spending the night afterwards. D is trying to find someone to go hang out with... .... to many girls for him!

I DID IT AGAIN!!!!

I did it again and this time was even better. I sent in another picture to the local news station of a sunset last Thursday night. That evening on the news he announced that he had gotten so many sunset pictures he would show them on Friday night. Well Friday night he showed a picture and gave it an honorable mention, then another honorable mention, and then.... yep ME... I got 3 rd place. His comment this time was he still had no idea where TGA was. I of course did the happy dance. I was excited to get another one on the news but 3 place out of all those pictures he received.... WOO HOO!!!

CHECK IT OUT!!!! This picture was taken by ..... ME!!!!!! And guess what.... it was on the news tonight. I am so HAPPY!!!!!!! Our local news station always shows some pictures taken by local people. I took this picture tonight and emailed it to them and to my surprise it was on the news tonight. Not only did he say my name and location he made a cool comment about wanting to tickle the clouds. I am just so happy that I took a picture that was good enough to be on the news!!! Yes, I was lucky enough to have it on TIVO. I will be happy to share it all with you when you come for a visit. WOO HOO !!!!!!!!!
