The Girls Outside Justice

BUSY !!!

We have been so busy. Here is a run down of the last month.

B turned 13 and had a ROCKIN B'day party. We took the girls to Justice and they enjoyed it so much. It was worth every penny.

B & D were at the local t.v. station taping a segment about Canine Good Citizenship with Reeses and Lady.

We are apart of way to many 4- H clubs. We belong to Puppy Pals, Cooking, Scrapbooking, Home Grown, Ecology, and soon to add to our list Archery. I have to say that although it keeps us busy it is a wonderful addition to our schooling.

Saturday we did the Coastal Clean up and had fun. While it was disgusting it taught the kids a good lesson on not throwing out trash. After that B had to work a booth at the local Tractor Supply for another 4- H club. We ended the day with having about 4 kids come and hang out for the afternoon.

We have been busy training the dogs for upcoming shows.

The kids got to go to ROCK THE UNIVERSE at Universal Studios with Friends.

B got to go with girls to the JONAS BROTHERS CONCERT. They had a blast!!!

B is part of a Planning committee for a 4-H group. They are working on planning a city. If they were to get a lot of land and build their own city where would things go, what would you need. She is really having a blast with it.

Of course we are trying to get some school done with all those activities. Who ever said homeschoolers don't get any socialization.

We are having fun with our local PE group.

We will be starting a group that will be working on election stuff for the month of October.

We will be making a trip to Wannado City soon with a bunch of the families from our homeschool group.

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY MONTH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Movies

The kids enjoyed a nice day at the movies with friends today. We went to the free movie and saw Evan Almighty. The kids enjoyed it because they were with 6 of their friends, so that always makes for a good time. After the movie we went to a local park and ate lunch. Then T and I went walking for an hour.... who's brilliant idea is it to walk at 1:00 in 95 degree weather???? We definitely got our workout. We then did some Walmart shopping and came home to chill out! Tonight B was thrilled to do some math, oh how she loves math... NOT!!!! The kids are looking forward to Friday. We have youth group at our house and B has 4 girls spending the night afterwards. D is trying to find someone to go hang out with... .... to many girls for him!

I DID IT AGAIN!!!!

I did it again and this time was even better. I sent in another picture to the local news station of a sunset last Thursday night. That evening on the news he announced that he had gotten so many sunset pictures he would show them on Friday night. Well Friday night he showed a picture and gave it an honorable mention, then another honorable mention, and then.... yep ME... I got 3 rd place. His comment this time was he still had no idea where TGA was. I of course did the happy dance. I was excited to get another one on the news but 3 place out of all those pictures he received.... WOO HOO!!!

Fourth Of July Fun

We had a blast this fourth of July. We had 4 other families come and join us for a day of fun. We started off the day with some nice grilled dogs, baked corn, baked beans, italian pasta salad, chips, cookies, and a strawberry blueberry something. YUM YUM !! Oh, lets not forget the watermelon. After we stuffed ourselves with good summertime food we let the kids shoot off the parachute men. They fly into the air and pop open a parachute and float softly to the ground were little children anxiously await their arrival. J also shot off about 20 bottle rockets, we have about 200 left. NO I AM NOT EXAGERATING!!!! That boy bought 2 suitcases full of fireworks. They really are called suitcases. They even came with a free shirt! The kids will now be sporting around Alien Fireworks backpacks/rolly bags.

After that the kids all ran around shooting each other with water guns and slipping down the slip and slide. I got some of the adults up for a WILD game of volleyball. First we were good adults and let the small children play then we were in it to win it and played ADULTS ONLY!!!! We ended up playing for like 4 hours with a few short water breaks in between. I talked to everyone Saturday morning and we were all feeling the burn. After our fierce volleyball playing we all had some more hot dogs, I am glad it is Monday and they are finally all gone! It was starting to get a little dark so everyone got prepared for the firework show. J started shooting them off around 8:30 the show ended at 10:30 we had more fireworks then the city could put off. We all had a wonderful day and can't wait till next year. In fact we all had so much fun we are having another family day at our house in August.

In School

We started school this week and we have had a blast! B is really enjoying her new books. One of her favorites has been her new Apologia General Science book. She is really LOVING the experiments. Yesterday she did a really neat experiment about density. She took water, vegetable oil, and corn syrup in a large cup. They of course fall into layers. She then took a small rock, grape, cork and an ice cube and dropped them in the cup. They all went on different layers. Today she did an experiment where you take a cup of hot water and put in one jar, a cup of cold water in the other. You then take 3 drops of food coloring and put them in the jars. In the hot jar it mixes up quickly, the cold water the coloring just sits there. She is loving it. She is also enjoying that she is doing stuff all on her own, not including her brother.

D is doing well in school. I think he likes that he gets me to himself a lot more this year. We only do a few things all together. They both love the new math curriculum on the computer.

I am hoping that we all still love our new stuff a few weeks down the road!

Date Night

J and I have really been enjoying the kids new youth group. They go every other Friday night. They have music, then a study, then the last two times have went swimming. They are LOVING it!!! J and I are taking advantage by going out together. Do you know how long it has been since we have been on dates, we almost don't know what to do with ourselves. Last night we went and got an ice cream and went to a local park on the water. We walked around for a bit and were ready to go..... oh, that only took 45 minutes what are we going to do with the rest of the time????? We decided to go to the dollar store that was in the area. We hadn't been to one in months. We walked around and ended up purchasing two drinks and a pack of bagels, did you know they sold bread now, in date bread at that. We then were trying to kill more time so we were headed to another park when B called and told us we didn't have to pick them up till 10:00. WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO NOW???? J was tired so I decided to take him home and I would just go to Wal-Mart and do my weekly shopping. On the way home he decided he wanted to go. That is great, except now I am not going home and have to rack my brain to figure out what is on the refrigerator list that we are out of..... hmmm. We set in the parking lot for a bit so I could make up the weekly menu and picture the list of necessary items. We still got to the kids early. I am so use to shopping as fast as I can that I don't know how to take it slow in Wally World. When we arrived of course the kids were not ready to leave so we chatted with the other adults for awhile. In that time I was nominated to have next youth group at my house...yippee!

Today we are just chilling out at the house. B is upset that AT&T had the nerve to send her a text message at 9:00 am on a Saturday morning waking her up! The consequences we have for getting our own cell, tough life huh! We are going to work on the yard today and just chill out. J had to work this morning so we are waiting for him to get home. Hope everyone had a great weekend.

*****Just a note that the picture above is not of the ice cream we got, not even close. I am enjoying adding pictures to this blog so I found a yummy ice cream.********

Movie Day

The kids really enjoyed watching this movie today. We picked up some boys and we all went and checked it out. It was WONDERFUL!!!! I think we are going to read the book to see what differences there are between the book and the movie. After the movie we went to Pet Smart for B to spend her gift card. She won a gift card at a dog show she participated in and finally got to spend it. She was a great shopper. She got a steel comb for all of Reeses mats, an adorable dog bed, and a super cute toy. The best part of it was I only had to pay 5.00 for all of it... .YIPPEE!!!!
We got B's new science book in the mail today. This thing is INTENSE, HUGE, and Intimidating. When I was reading the teacher part it tells you this book is hard but is for the college bound student. It also says that is normal for the average student to only get a C in this book, as it is HARD. Well we will just hope for the best and I know that B will be getting A's!!!!
I have been working on our school stuff for next year. We can't wait to start all the new books we have. Our first day will be June 23. It will be a little different this year as B will be doing a lot more this year on her own... boo hoo. We are using a lot of new stuff this year so it will be exciting.

Almost Done

The kids are getting excited that school is almost over. This week we are finishing up projects and taking end of year test. We have a pool party this week for the final class of PE. They are really looking forward to a big party this weekend. I can't wait to go to homeschool convention this weekend. It always makes me get excited about our homeschooling venture. I especially like buying all that new curriculum.

WOO HOO

I set up a link to subscribe to this blog... I am so thrilled with myself! Of course I haven't figured out how to move things around but that will come in time.

Project in progress

I am getting excited about this blog. It will let me do all kinds of stuff! I hope that when we start our new homeschool year... sometime between June 16-June 23. I don't like to start a week that we have something. I wanted to start June 9 but D has VBS ( B is to old... :() The kids are also doing a 4-H fishing camp that week. We could start the next week but we have our homeschool group pool party. There is always something going on in this house. I am going to try and figure out a way that it will email you when I write something new. We all know that I am not the best at keeping up with it.... BUSY LIFE!!!

Welcome to my new Blog

I hope to love this blog and the layout. I can't wait to try and add new stuff. Of course that will take time!!!
